- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Tony Bayliss -- Feminist Polemic : Jeanette Winterson is incredibly knowledgeable and tackles a wide range of very topical issue in this collection of 'essays', and they contain a lot of good stuff. My guess is that the type of person who will read this book is likely to be fully-conversant with the history of Women's struggle, so really doesn't need to hear it all again. Her sub-titles should more accurately be 'How women got here, and where women might go next'. As a male with strong feminist sympathies, I nevertheless felt excluded. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from The BookBreather -- Clear, precise, incisive, jargon-free, infused with wisdom and love : May I start by applauding Winterson's thorough research and the deep thought and reflection she has applied to it. As a female who worked in AI and related areas for many years, I can attest that she gets her facts right, both the theory and the social side of things. But there is much in this book that goes beyond AI, and I learned a lot. As always, Winterson's writing is a work of art and a joy to read, though much of the content is disturbing, inevitably, as she surveys our tech- and resource-divided world.
